Analysys Mason’s M2M scorecard for communications service providers: Extract

Analysts views 12 March 2013

Vodafone has been recognised as a global leader in machine-to-machine (M2M) networks and standards, securing the rating of Industry Icon in Analysys Mason’s independent M2M scorecard report. The research examined the performance of the top seven machine-to-machine communications service providers (CSPs). Vodafone was also rated joint first for overall excellence.

Analysys Mason’s M2M scorecard for communications service providers: 2012 report rated each of the seven CSPs against six different M2M categories that explored all aspects of their business, from overall strategy to R&D. Vodafone was praised for its M2M strategy, partnerships, organisational structure, networks and standards. The report emphasised Vodafone’s investment in driving industry standards and acknowledged the broad set of SLAs it offers to enterprise customers.

M2M technology connects ‘things’ to the internet, transforming them into intelligent devices that exchange real time information. This opens up a range of possibilities for how businesses are run, how they grow, and how they keep customers happy. For more than 20 years, Vodafone has connected M2M customers globally and is behind some of the world’s most prominent and successful M2M deployments, which include BMW and TomTom.

Vodafone Head of M2M Smart Services, Erik Brenneis, said: "Analysys Mason referred to Vodafone as an Industry icon, which is recognition we are extremely proud of. This report highlights the responsibility we have as a global M2M leader to continue to drive the machine-to-machine industry forwards and to unlock the future business potential for M2M.”

Steve Hilton, Principal Analyst, Analysys Mason: “For the second year in a row, Vodafone has shown itself extremely credible in offering a broad set of M2M solutions. A focus on partnership development, R&D and quality-of-service makes Vodafone a leading supplier M2M solutions globally.”

Our Code of Conduct

Reporting concerns

All employees and contractors have a duty to report any breaches of our Code of Conduct, which is known as our "Speak Up" policy. We have launched a global external reporting scheme which allows employees and contractors to report through a third party. This new process enables us to consolidate existing whistle blowing practice in local markets, increases visibility and ensures consistency of approach in responding to concerns raised from across the organisation. Concerns may be reported anonymously and the protection of innocent people is our priority at all times. People can identify themselves to our external partner using a PIN and receive feedback. Vodafone has a non-retaliation policy and will not take any action against anyone reporting a genuine concern, even if this is proven not to result in a breach of compliance.
